Um, wow indeed! Nice one! When the fuss surrounding a book’s release dies away, it’s easy to forget that it's still out there gaining new readers. I’m delighted to see that this one is. To tell the truth, from the first time I saw and read it, I thought maybe, just maybe, it could. Charles, you’ve done a lot for many of us by following your instincts and collecting other people’s stories in these anthologies. They're well-crafted, and - as an occasional proof reader - I know how carefully edited they are. Hell, do I know. Good stories and Paul Mudie’s artwork on the covers - these are damn attractive books to collectors and horror readers. Speaking as a writer of short stories, I sure as hell didn’t expect to see those stories published in a series of books of such consistently high quality as this. My way of saying ‘thanks, mate’. Bit long-winded, maybe, but it’s what I feel about these books. I really hope there'll be more of them. I guess it's time to put my write-up of Black Book 5 on the net... OK, doing it. And I'm not in that one, which frees me up a bit.

Congrats to Rog and Craig on the publication of Book Seven Thinking about it, the BBOH must be a really heavy workload for the editor, in terms of ploughing through the subs, selecting the stories, getting the cover art sorted, printing, distribution and promotion. It's a real credit to Charles that largely, the contents of the the books I have a really quite good (my favourite collection of those I have is the one with the fellow on the front cover eating human flesh. Nice!).

Tremendous amount of work involved. If you'd seen Charlie humping huge boxes of books that David Riley had already carted down to the WHC you'd give him a medal. And that's not the half of it. Great to see him getting plaudits for it though. Well deserved ;D
