Neither small press nor small potatoes but maybe a bit Indie, I thought I'd chip in this in case Charles forgot:
The Fifth Black Book of Horror Category: Writing and Poetry In the words of the notorious and increasingly popular editor of Horror, Charles Black
'Are you hungry for some more horror? Do you have an appetite for the abominable?
Then you need The Fifth Black Book of Horror. Thirteen morsels of the macabre for those with a taste for terror.
With stories by Reggie Oliver; Paul Finch; David A. Riley; Craig Herbertson; Rosalie Parker; Ian C. Strachan; David Williamson; Marcus Gold; Richard Staines; Anna Taborska; Raymond Vaughn, and two by John Llewellyn Probert, it’s a veritable feast of fear!
Coming soon...'
Note: I'm in there with another cheery tale of blasted souls and the unspeakable occult. Can't wait to read this New Black Book as the others have been tops

I love this publication and give my best wishes on the future of this edition,I have to admit in feeling really annoyed with myself because this publication is one I dearly want one of my storys to appear in some day.
I completely missed out on this issue I guess I should keep my ear closer to the ground.

I completely missed out on this issue I guess I should keep my ear closer to the ground. Charles rejected me for this one! Well, he rejected one of my stories. I'd love to get in there myself. I've seen the cover on the Vault forum and its brill - probably the best yet.

Needless to say it's excellent and our own Mr Herbertson is the star of the show for me. I have to whole-heartedly agree on both points, there. Excellent review, incidentally. I'll have to give your site a proper perusal.

Thanks for the kind words. It's a fairly new site risen from the ashes of Highlanders Book Reviews so any comments gratefully received.
Cheers

Blackabyss, you are not required to collect your coat in the view of your recent remarks. instead take up a chair while I get you a little tipple. hang on, my head is unable to breach this doorway...
I shall of course be stealing all these kind remarks and hyperboling it elsewhere on the net.
I think you summarised it with 'diversity'. there's something for everyone in the Black Books - too many names to mention but in this tiny mutual admiration society of dubious sycophants, lurker has scored a couple of big hits with me - maybe it's just similar tastes in reading. In the last one Lord Probert had a couple of gems. I could go on and on and probably will at the WHC.

Without wishing to encourage an Alice in Wonderland type roof catastrophe at Herbertson Towers, I do think it is worth reiterating that your story was the standout amongst the diversity and quality on offer...although it was close, that Richard Staines is a talented guy
