Cal , hoping to stil catch you : so does this mean FC 6 is open for submission ? FC 6 is open for submissions, yes. Tremendous news, Rog and good to see you out and about. Congrats on making the Best Horror book too. Best wishes to you and Coral, and...er..Is TTMC 3 still available? Charles Black passed me the news about two of my stories getting into Ellen Datlow's list, The Pit getting into the top 50. I'm still feeling dizzy from that. It's thanks to Charles bringing out the Black Books that those stories didn't stay stuck in a drawer for ever. Thinking Man's Crumpet 3 - I've just asked Coral, and she's got the DTP files, so yes that's possible. I'll let her sort out any details with you, as TTMC is her baby.

As for ordering FC, I've got a file of names and addresses of interested people, and I usually work my way through it, posting magazines as I print them, starting with contributor's copies. As a contributor to a previous issue of FC, it would only b a matter of time before you got a copy, Caroline. You don't get away that easily. Er, call me daft, Rog, but I was thinking I might actually PAY you for a copy ..?

Er, call me daft, Rog, but I was thinking I might actually PAY you for a copy ..? If anyone's daft, it's me, Caroline, as I always get bashful and awkward about this question - which is daft of me, considering it can cost about £100 in ink (£30 a multipack) to print just a small run of FCs, and no one here is exactly rich - we're now seriously considering using a professional printer. Anyway, someone else has asked the same question, so we were thinking that if people chipped in with £2 an issue, that would probably be reasonable. What I plan to do is just to start sending them out. Contributor's copies are traditionally complimentary in any case. There is just one more thing to mention here. There has been some reprinting going on here, and this seems the time to mention it. But on another thread... God, the suspense!

Rog - just a quick note to thank you for your muriel of Dreadstone - it's brilliant. I couldn't see it at work earlier today, but now I'm home I can see it in all it's glory. Thank you.

I need to add a quick update here, as I learned something this morning which could significantly lessen the cost of producing FC. As I was leaving work, I saw a chap I had a brief nodding acquaintance with entering the Cornwall College Press, and followed him in to ask if I'd be able to get work done there. After a few minutes he tapped a calculator and gave me an estimate for printing 25 black and white magazines with 50 pages each. A mere £25.25! That almost a fiver less than I've been paying for a multipack of obscenely priced Epson ink which usually runs out after printing four or five copies! Of course, it was a very quick estimate. It didn't take into account the tinted illustrations, colour adverts and glossy colour covers that readers of FC have become familiar with, and FC 5 is actually 64 pages (including the covers), not the quoted 50. But hell and dammit, suddenly new possibilities are opening up, like a bigger print-run, wider circulation... OK, time to calm down now. But I'm glad I went into that print shop this morning!

Well as far buying copies goes I think it's about time I brought a few more than the one I recieve for free,my parents always want one for themselves because I have a story in it and another is always handy because people like to read it,flick through and I can perserve the complimentery copy.
Besides it will help make sure number 6 is more likely.

Um, please don't take offense at this one... That's more than reasonable, Rog - I'd be happy to pay £2 or more for an issue. Now, how do we pay you? Do you have a PayPal account? I'm not sure how to use PayPal, Caroline. I have an account but never seem able to do anything with it. I suppose I could figure it out or ask someone how. In the meantime, if people just post cheque or postal order, that's OK. Those that don't have the address, just PM me. Sorry I haven't been here much today.

I'm not sure how to use PayPal, Caroline. I have an account but never seem able to do anything with it. I suppose I could figure it out or ask someone how. I think I read somewhere that you need to link your PayPal account to your bank account in order to transfer funds from PayPal to your bank. Otherwise, it just stores up the money and uses it when you pay for things by PayPal. But I'll put a cheque in the post to you as it's easier - no worries.

Replies to 4 people here, James, Craig, Franklin and Lobo: Rog that peice of art reminds me of old 1970's Captian Britain comics I think I've got some of those comics. You can see an (estimated) '74 date, which I added to the lower right of the picture). I took it from a 4-page comic I sketched on quarto typing paper. Basically a Jack Kirby imitation. Well, this is good news. Welcome back. You've certainly been missed It's mutual, Craig. Even now I'm not able to spend as much time here as I'd like. But the FC printing and new website building are both ongoing. ..er..Is TTMC 3 still available? We hadn't forgotten that TTMC, Franklin... but Coral and I each thought the other was PM-ing you to ask if you wanted more than one more of those sent. Result: you are probably still waiting for our PMs... OK, PM me, and let me know. Anyway, one's on the way to you with FC. And Lobo, I'll send a PM - some of your suggestions appealed because they dealt with such fascinatingly obscure stuff.
