Hi everybody, I occasionally post on the BFS forum as 'Degsy' where some of you might know me from. Interested in all things weird and wonderful from Bosch to Ballard. I've been dabbling in short fiction for the last 18 months, but never really been given any constructive feedback on my work. I seriously need to raise my game and I'd be interested in putting something up for critique and hopefully be able to give some input into other people's stuff as well. I had a story in the last 'Nemonymous' which was a big confidence boost for me and the first time I've been able to finance a round of drink's from my writing - cheers Des! Derek

Hi Degsy. You must very good then. I'm ashamed to say I never read any of that prestigious canon. Ballard genius.

Hi Craig and Benedict,
Thanks for the welcomes. I take my hat off to both of you - you're far more talented than I am. Hopefully I can pick your brains for hints and tips.
I mentioned in the previous post about raising my game. This resolution was brought about by reading that Ray Bradbury wrote a story a week for the first ten years of his career - and here I was dashing-off a couple of lines during my lunchbreak!
I guess if it ain't hurtin' it ain't workin'. Though to be fair, if Bradbury didn't sell at least one story every month, he didn't eat - now there's an incentive.

Derek Getting mixed up with posts here, so grab a quote. Hi Degsy, I rejoined the BFS just recently. I decided that if I didn't, in days to come I'd wonder why I missed out. By 'the last Nemonymous', I guess you mean Nul Immortalis? I'm reading that one at the moment and began writing up some stories. It looks like being another good one. Will look forward to your input here. Rog
