As Woolrich's writing has given me so much fun - and chills - here are a couple of tributes I found on YouTube a while back. The first is from muirmaiden, who I think is in Canada, and I know has a strong appetite for pulp. The music here is the theme from The Shadow. See how many books, films, adaptations you're familiar with. The second is from MrBobotremens. The soundtrack is gentler but their's a fair bit of thought gone into this compilation. The railway station scene from Phantom Lady seems to echo that creepy walk to the bus stop in The Leopard Man. It's a pity he forgot Truffaut's The Bride Wore Black, but thank god he didn't use that weak-at-the-knees Roy Castle version of Papa Benjamin in Dr Terror's House of Horrors.
