i've read the first two of the three but the third seems a little difficult to pick up, they are:
Bangkok 8 Bangkok Tattoo Bangkok Haunts
These are the kind of crime books i really like in that they have inventive plots, characters that come alive and very very good writing that trandscends the genre.
i'd recommend these for people who want something a bit different from your average detective story.

Not me. I am a bit dull on crime. i read a lot of Agatha Chistie as a boy, Recently Ian Rankine but generally speaking crime just doesn't do it for me (oh except Mallory and Holmes

I read Rebus for the location - they're well written. I was drinking in the Oford bar a few weeks back. Greta bar. Not a single reference to Rankine anywhere, just good beer and no flashing lights or noise
