I'm Coral. I live in Rogers cellar. Sometimes I write things and sometimes I draw things, but mostly I play with my Nintendo. I edit the Thinking Man's Crumpet magazine along with Caroline Callaghan.

Hi there - yes, it's me, the trouble-maker! I'm a fan of horror shorts, old and new - everything from MR James and Edgar Allen Poe through Ramsey Campbell to Mark Morris and beyond. Also old horror films - Karloff, Hammer, Amicus, etc. No time to talk yet, but there'll be no stopping me once I get going. Ben, how come you've suddenly changed gender? I think you must have pressed a wrong key somewhere!

I'm des. Thanks for this site for rationalising topics to help the beloved Vault. I see the two sites as symbiotic and I hope things will be good for all.

My name is Steve Bacon. I love all things horror, irrespective of when it was produced.
I'm a struggling writer, and I live in South Yorkshire with my wife and two sons. As well as horror I also enjoy crime (Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie, all the way up to John Connolly and Colin Dexter), dark fantasy, and dark science fiction.
I'm hoping to contribute towards the creativity.

As I'm new to this forum-building lark, I'm still turning around ideas. Should I have called this site 'New Writings' with an FC site dedicated to that magazine? Basically, I find the idea of a dedicated magazine site too limited. And this site, whatever it's called, was needed to rationalize topics at the Vault.
I think it's interesting that the site has already begun to 'mutate' with Ben's Apocalyptic Fiction thread. I think that's fine. People need other things to look at to keep it interesting and entertaining.
I'm toying with the idea of a fiction review site which would cover things not really explored at the Vault, like Science Fiction and even mainstream. I can think of a mainstream novel by a 30s horror writer, for instance. And contemporary novels which have a supernatural theme but are not really of the horror genre. But to put those things here or in another site? Opinions welcome.
Oh, and welcome all, and thanks for joining.

Rog - thanks to you also for starting this up. As for ideas for content, I haven't really thought about it yet - a bit busy at the moment - but I'll say something later if anything pops into my head. I hope that this forum can work alongside the Vault and keep everyone happy!

Hey guys I am an a infequent poster of The Vault so you may know me vaugly but Filthy Creations and Rog has helped me a great deal in my amatuer writing plans. So I think it's good to support the publication and keep the momentum going for those who have not yet had anything printed Hope to see you all inside.

Since the last time I posted I decided this site should have a rich variety of content, including reviews and synopses of mass-marketed books. Thanks to Coral for her views on this subject. Without some freedom here, this could turn into just a Shocklines clone. For years I've restrained myself from posting the reviews of other books I've read because I gathered they weren't of interest to Vault members. Now I have a lot of SF 'recent reading' write-ups, SF, crime and mainstream, and I intend to have fun posting them here. I hope others will do the same. We know that the site was aimed at writers who want to promote their work. But who says they shouldn't have fun doing that? And welcome to anyone who's joined recently. If I start listing names I'm bound to miss someone. Delighted to see you all here.

I think I'm beginning to understand what's been going on now, where I was going wrong (unknowingly), and why it upset some people. Forgive me if I'm not around for a while though as I have a lot going on at present. But I'm still with you! I'll be back when I can. Oh and Lobo, I'd say get your reviews posted. The more people who take part here, the better.
