Just letting folks know that I will be kind of mad busy for the next month - unusual at the moment in the music business which is falling on its arse - but it means that I may or may not be around much on the board until early April Having said this I'll not be disappearing utterly, just won't be able to devote as much time to any serious questions or critiques.

Cats out the bag Craig. Now as this confirms what I suspected all along, you are a member of One Direction. I guess this must be a new tour, hmm?

Well, cc, I wish it was the case. It's just a mini tour up and down Germany - nothing significant in the great scheme of pop idols and punk legends. Back to reality in April as the gigs run out and the world collapses in a heap

I've been keeping my head down and staying busy.

Still around folks.
Another two drawings completed (making six in all over past weeks), a third at final shading stage, copies of two being coloured for possible covers (come back to this in a moment), and two more at line drawing stage (mostly done).
Coming back to possible two covers... I'm now thinking it'll probably be best to do FCs 7 and 8 with current stories (possibly another short story possible/needed here with that revised layout). The alternative would be an issue so big it would be offputting.
At about that point I realised I was getting a serious case of the blues just concentrating on the same things so long, and the house was turning into a tip, so yesterday and today turning attention to sorting place out which was has proved a good blues-banishing exercise.

Yes, always good that. I tidied up a bit this morning. if anyone ever sees my office there's a sort of stunned silence and a dawning realization in the eyes that its not a mirage .

Just as an aside I really like the eerie and bizarre type of covers I like that F.C has never plugged for the front cover gore feel but rather the disturbing and unnerving. Oh and I think I must a bit slow or have missed something obvious but are submissions offically open for stories for the next two editions of F.C? Oh and keep at it Rog and don't let the blues get you down Only thing worth doing with the blues is sing them

The covers are great. As far as I'm concerned FC is always open because its a workshop. The current policy of only members seeing stories means that you can use it as a platform for other outlets but any story that we like is likely to be considered for the next mag so just post away. Its continual.

Sorry I haven't been around much lately, folks. For three or four days I did stop working for aforementioned reasons. Basically it was just a case of all work and no play makes Rog a surly git. Over that now and yesterday saw most of a sketch for Penni's The Architect's Table drawn (previously I thought it un-illustratable, but the break of some days suddenly showed me an obvious possibility). Drawing a skeletal hand sent me into another tiz as I don't have any medical books, but a combination of Googling and feeling bones in own hand solved the problem.
A sketch for Craig's serial worked out OK, but I felt it lacked horror or sexiness so will try another. I'm particularly happy with a second sketch for David's serial, which looked more 40s book illustration-ish as opposed to the one seen in the flash movie which I think owes more to 60s film posters.
Colin's story was pretty easy to do. Robert's story produced the other nastiest illustration so far - the other being Charles'.
Well, people did keep telling me the importance of the illustrations, otherwise I wouldn't have done so many. There are two others on the go (Franklin's and Des's).
Yeah, I think people should keep submitting stories as pushing on with other magazines as they fill up seems the best way, and more than these tiresome and unexciting story-so-far posts will eventually give way to finished magazines.
One question I remember not answering, David's question about possibility of eventually posting the flash films on other sites. Yes, I don't see any problem there. Most blogs have YouTube links available in their dashboards, I think.
Oh, and if anyone wants to suggest other sites where the magazines could be promoted, suggest or link them here.
