I'm back. I was in France playing at Contalmaison for the Hearts Great War memorial Trust. Then up to Ypres where the party were invited to lay a wreath. Our piper played the lament and a young Canadian Choir sung. Very emotional stuff. Mix that in with three days of Scottish hospitality and I am still feeling a little weary. Great news about the sell out. Do we have new orders as well? I figured it might be something like that, Craig. But after a while I started getting a tad concerned. Anyway, it looks like you had a great and memorable time. Yes, we do have some new orders. First I got up to date with posting yesterday (4 or 5 parcels) (mundane things like work, overdue council tax and the house tend interrupted things); then a hefty order came through from one of FCs contributors, who'd been doing some pretty effective promoting (take a bow, sir!), then some more independent orders came in. Thanks, David. Anyway, this morning I looked into College Print and ordered some more FCs printed. The reviews are still to appear and promotions are still to be done at some other forums. As you might guess, I'm not unhappy about this. In fact I'm delighted. Only two issues have been sent unasked (though I did contact the recipients first). I don't know if I should do this again. It felt difficult: Not offering them seemed stand-offish; on the other hand, recipients could feel obliged to write something about them, which can be a bit of a burden if they have other things to do - and we all have other things to do. Anyway, generally very pleased and keen to get to the next issue.

I just tried that PayPal link for myself, Ryan. It seems there's no quick way of ordering more than one copy at that page. All you can do there is order one copy then repeat the process. An alternative way, slightly quicker, would be if you let me know how many copies you want and I send you an email PayPal link for the appropriate amount. Just PM or email me or let me know here and I'll send the link. Remember that I don't have the second printing yet, though I don't think it'll be long. Graham at College Print didn't seem too stressed when I saw him yesterday, so I guess they caught up with things there.

I suppose I should have re-titled the thread Back to the Drawing Board, as that might be the order of the day. Yesterday was pretty well washed out, almost literally, when I realized the water cascading onto the kitchen roof wasn't due to weather (it was sunning! Yay! but due to a failed ball-valve in my attic cistern (Yah booh sucks! ) Cue a lot of running to-and-fro from the outside stop-tap, up the stairs, up the step-ladder, clambering through the unholy jumble of boxes in the attic... then seeing that I'd botched the repair so water was now squirting everywhere. Back down to the stop-tap... God it was tiring. Anyway, after a few failed attempts and trips to hardware retailers, finally it was fixed... and the day was gone. Something I said I'd do was make the FC 7 illustrations available for people to post to their blogs if they wanted. They're here: Cal's PhotoBucketPlease note there are quite a lot of them - in the folders on the left. I uploaded all the smaller details that I'd used for the video. So it might be a case of rooting around, though the folders are named for the stories. ( Edit: just realized I didn't upload all the details for All Endings Are Happy. Will do so.) Something else forum members might want to think about is whether they support the magazine or just the issue of the magazine that has their story in. Which might be the next issue or the one after that. Admittedly all the 66 people who registered at this site are not still active members. And some members have always been generous and ready to contribute. But if only half the members of this board were still visiting and posting stories here, and if they all bought one copy of each FC, then we'd immediately cease to be a loss-making magazine and it would be more encouragement to continue producing it. Believe me, FC (like Charles Black's Black Books or D F Lewis's Nemonymous series) is bloody hard work and leaves me without a normal life (whatever that is). Think about it.

Another forum promotional post has been made here: FC 7 at the British Horror Films BoardPossibly you'd need to be logged in there to view that one. And here: Cafe DoomAnd here: The British Horror Novels BoardWas just hijacked by that little page again, wanting me to download new java (instead of a new browser this time). Had to reset and redo one of those posts linked above - and I'm running more protection on this computer than ever before.

As far as more online reviews are concerned... well, we did surprisingly well at Vault, for which my thanks to Dem and Andy. I've just been looking at the cost of a Black Static subscription... and at their possible review list. TTA subscriptionsBlack Static possible review list

A little programme that may help with all the virus and adware rubbish is called Hi-jack this. It scans the computer superfast and finds malicious process and "hi-jacks" them and then you can get rid of them. It's tinyand really usefull, I used on my week off to clean my brothers virus swamped machine.

So been absent for a bit, so....is the new issue finaly out ? Asking for the sake of Cal's health !
Also, wish I could contribute more material guys, but unless I get a lightning bolt of inspiration I can't do squat cause there's no ideas I can brute force, at least not good ones.
Last story I submitted a bit ago I thought of in the bath ! And t'was the first story I managed to complete in three years, due to overall not great times being distracting from my more upper class persuits.
I recently looked up the aprox. five stories I'd be happy to submitt in total, and even if printed in standard book format that'd be about 50 pages max. which was a little disheartening.
Good luck with the publicity Cal. I'd post it in the places I go to as well but, well, they're not that kinda crowd.
