I'll buy a copy of FC7 when it's ready. Much appreciated, Adam. Think I've got your address. I'll check. I'll be setting up the PayPal page today or tomorrow. As a more general comment, did I post here that I hadn't heard from College Print yet, or did I just mention it in emails? Anyway I guess they'll catch up with their backlog and print FC sometime this week. Today, as yesterday, I'll be carrying on with mostly offline preparations for promotions. A lot of it has been clearing the staggering amount of redundant images (about 2 Gigabytes worth) so that I can see the ones I need for the video. Talk about not being able to see the wood for the trees! Craig has suggested that I confine posting to FC 7 announcements in case I cause confusion; and I can see the wisdom of that, Craig. I end up confusing myself without much problem at all. I'll shortly be checking on people's addresses for mailing the complementary issues to contributors. And as suggested here earlier, if anyone wants to buy a copy for friends, family, etc., that'll be appreciated. (Can't leave Craig with all the unpleasant work of asking for cash.)

Emailed 9 people today, so they'll know I'm still waiting on College Print. 4 addresses have been confirmed for sending contributors complementary copies, plus Adam's new address . Thanks, folks. Still waiting to hear from 3 contributors. Also waiting on a reply from admin at the Ramsey Campbell board (Gary Fry). I seem to be logged in there but can't actually do anything. I suspect I registered a long time back but didn't activate my account. No hurry though as there are still things to do here and don't have the magazines yet. I rejoined the BFS so that after submitting the magazine for review, I'll get their literature (it's well worth joining anyway, so I would have done that eventually anyway). I've been working on the video and recorded the music for it again so hopefully it won't sound quite so broken and crackly. I planned to edit that this afternoon - sort out the screams from the music - but Outlook/Hotmail was oddly slow, so the emails took over an hour - I should have just emailed everyone at once, but insisted on being stubbornly old-fashioned and wrote them all one by one. When I get the bill from College Print I can figure out how much to charge for FC (contributors of course get a free copy, in case anyone isn't sure). Not sure how to set up the PayPal page yet. I did it before though, for the last issue, so probably I'll just modify that old page (which appeared to die of old age, incidentally). Going back to the video music, I was surprised when I realised that the organ music I used was actually from a very early Ennio Morricone score. Somehow Morricone isn't a name I immediately connect with Barbara Steele spaghetti horror. Not a lot more I can add here for the time...

OK, I just downloaded my old PayPal page to my desktop and tried clicking the button - and it is still working, it hadn't died after all! So anyway, it seems dead easy to set that up again for the new magazine when I get the bill and can figure out what it has to cost. Gosh, they used to think you had to be clever to use computers. Funny how things change, isn't it?

OK, now I'm flummoxed. After fiddling around with Audacity editor and various players, still get crackly soundtrack. Perhaps you do need to be clever to use computer stuff, after all. Hmmph!

So they printed it but the buggers didn't bother to phone me... It's been a bit of a day, but I'm satisfied with it in the end. This morning I got fed up with the distorting video soundtrack and downloaded a trial version of another recorder. When I ran it the laptop crashed and I got the dreaded Blue Screen. The upshot of this was the video I was piecing together (80 images in sequence) disappeared. Picasa (which weirdly has no option to save a video project) did attempt an autosave, but it wasn't particularly successful. Um, actually it wasn't at all successful... Anyway, I started again from scratch and at least the recorder seems to be a better one. I'll probably finish that job tomorrow. I've just emailed or messaged a few people and I've been sorting an address list to print out. Still two contributors whose addresses I need to confirm. Feeling a bit dozy now, so I think I'll call it a night. Glad to see there's another story in the workshop, too! ;D

Hats off to you, Rog. Excellent work. Finishing what one starts is such a beast. Can't wait to see it.

I've had a reply from the BFS saying to go ahead and send the magazine. David had helped there.
I've just tried sending this PM at the Ramsey Campbell board:
"Hi,
I don't seem to be able to log in or out. I can't post. I can find no trace of an 'activate your account' email in the box. And as I can't log out, I can't re-register.
Now to see if I can send this PM.
Rog"
As you'll gather, that PM wouldn't send and as I haven't had a reply to my email to admin, it looks like I won't be posting any promotion at that board. Maybe I can leave it to one of you guys, when it's ready? I believe a few of you are members there.
Bought a stack of envelopes on the way home from work, so I'll be doing some mailing today.

Re: the Ramsey Campbell board. By shortening the URL in the browser I finally found a page containing the message: "This area does not constitute free advertising space unless you are Ramsey Campbell. Please post accordingly. In particular, don't show up here just in order to tout your wares." So I shan't worry about trying to access it any more. Ignore the above post.

I found that the reason Outlook/Hotmail is so slow lately is that they're updating it. Browsing emails is like walking through mud and checking the Sent folder oddly brings up emails I know I received but didn't reply to. Have to try again later.
Trying to get in touch with Franklin Marsh to check address (sent PM at Vault).

Just a quick note to say that I can see emails from Gary Fry and Craig Herbertson in my mailbox, but can't open them while all this updating is going on. I just tried refreshing the browser and both emails disappeared!
Seriously, this merge with Outlook is the worst thing that ever happened to Hotmail.
But the first batch of FCs went out this afternoon.

First off big cheers for getting the first F.C's out Also the marrige of Outlook and Hotmail should have been a shotgun one and I think you know in which sense I mean.

Email box still can't be used. Tried getting into an old Yahoo box, but they want it verified by sending email to a previously registered box... hum... Why do these things always happen to me? Was I a tax collector in a previous life? Am I being punished?
