Directed by the legendary G W Pabst, this one could be an eye-opener for those who haven't previously explored silent films. Be warned, though, it's a bit of an epic at over two hours. For those impatient to see the Jack the Ripper sequence it begins at approximately 1 hour 47 minutes into the film.
