Just seen the announcement on the BFS site - there's going to be another BFS open evening in York on 28th Feb. Details as follows:
There will be a BFS Open Night at York Brewery on February 28. This is a hugely popular venue with the regulars. The Open Night will commence at 7.30 pm, and while there is no specific theme this time around, it's an ideal opportunity to meet up with your BFS friends in a warm and cozy atmosphere. There is an entry fee of £1 for members, but the bar is very reasonably priced.
It's a pity they don't have a "theme" this time - I particuarly enjoyed the ghost story readings last time. But, I'm hoping to be there anyway - anyone from this part of the world fancy gate-crashing with me? ;D

Caroline, I think I'll be going. I live in Rotherham, so York isn't too far to go. It'd be great to see you there.

Great, Steve. I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to go yet, but if I can, I'll look out for you - except I don't know what you look like, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it! ;D

Caroline, here's what I look like - awkward, geeky, ill at ease among strangers, pale, dressed in old fashioned clothes, shambling. Oh wait, not just me, that's what horror fans look like universally
