I've said it before. FC is in its infancy and was basically set up to give writers a venue which wasn't trampling on peoples' toes in vaultofevil. I think it will just take a while to grow and in the meantime the few of us here should just plod on.

I'm still lurking too. ;D I haven't been participating much in any forums recently - too busy and not very well into the bargain - but I do look in regularly to see what's going on. Sometimes, I just don't feel like socialising - not even online!

It does feel like 'bad form' when a site's instigator is away for a few days. What I've been doing lately has been reading more of Black Book 3 and also a copy of Not At Night issue 1 - an American small press magazine, taking its name from the British anthology series, that I got from Des a while back. It's an excellent magazine, the written content and illustrations excellent, and even at issue one, possessing a distinct identity. I wonder whether it ever got to a second issue. (I dont mean Cal or Coral, as they seem to be preocupied, I hope she is better now anyway . ) The answer to that is simply No. She's been in considerable pain these past few days as an abscess tries to grow its way out through her body like something from an Alien film. After a few days of this, she's decided to change the medication again as enforced inactivity is driving her up the wall. If I can't get any more posts done tonight, hope to be able to do something tomorrow.

Don't worry about it Rog. Happens when you have a lot on. I don't think there's an obligation for a group to be permanently full of activity. Sorry for Coral. Wish her well

I hope Caroline gets well soon. David, I think you're mixing me up with Coral! Don't worry, everybody does. I'm a little poorly myself, but mine's ongoing (chronic) and something you just have to get used to living with the ups and downs of (fibromyalgia) - Coral's is more serious (acute) and needs a decent doctor to get it sorted as quickly as possible. Hope she can get things sorted soon. Wish her all the best from us, Rog.

Bloody awful, and as nasty as any horror story; but at least she's just proved herself able to stagger in a tottery line again, albeit stuffed to the gills with pain killers. This abscess has been coming and going for about 8 years, and I'll spare you the gruesome details, except to say that now possibly, the surgeons will finally decide to actually give the go ahead for an actual operation which might do some lasting good. Hate to put pressure on them after all this time, but it might be nice if they actually did something other than go around in circles while patients suffer out of their sight. Thanks for your concern, folks.

I find that so upsetting. The German's have their faults but their Medical system is excellent - my doctor here is a homoeopath. I recall waiting 24 hours to have a wound on my hand looked at in Manchester's emergency ward. I got the feeling I was sitting next to dead people after about ten hours.
I hope they actually take some action now rather than deferring and I sincerely hope its 'get well soon for Coral'.
