Methinks I recognise a face. Happy to be the first to say Welcome, Poesque. Dark Horizons #28 (1985)Cover: Mark Dunn All these small press covers make me much regret my "years in the wilderness" (Good grief, I'll have to find a less Messianic term for "On the dole" . But it's great to see them here now. I've recently joined the BFS, and Dark Horizons is an excellent magazine and its cover art still brilliant. My reason for singling out this Mark Dunn cover is that I thought it looked so refreshing with its pre-Photoshop glory.

Good to see you here, Poesque! Thanks for your pair. Here's my last pair before I take a break from herding my choice of beasts into the Ark: Tales After Dark #2 (1986) Editor/Publisher: Garrie Hall This issue will always bear the shame of my very first published story ('Padgett Weggs')! Also contains work by Carl T Ford (editor of 'Dagon' where our very own Redbrain was already being published and it was Redbrain who tipped me off about 'Tales After Dark'*), Robert M Price, John A Crow, Donald R Burleson, Roger Johnson, Brian Lumley, Robert Longmuir, Peter Jeffery, Stephen Skwarek, Steve Hatherley... Cover Art: Allen Koszowski *I gave it a go therefore at this time (when I was 39) with a quickly scribbled story having had an ambition to be a fiction writer all my life up till then. Earlier, Redbrain had a story in 'Tales After Dark' #1 and I thought if he can get a story published so can I! Up till then I thought you had to be a rather special person to get published! Dreams & Nightmares #41 (1993) I have 17 issues of this mag, from 1990 to 2001, but there's a lot more been published than that! Editor/Publisher: David C Kopaska-Merkel Cover of this issue: Russ Miller This issue contains work by: Herb Kauderer, Bob Cook, W Gregory Stewart, Dick Dahlstrom, Gary William Crawford (editor of 'Night Songs'), Bruce Holland Rogers, t Winter Damon (who did the stunning artwork for 'Best of DF Lewis' (Tal 1993)), Corinne DeWinter and others.

Editor-in-Chief: Amber Altman Not sure how many issues it ran, but the mag was based in HAWAII This issue's cover: Allen Koszowski (who did the cover of TALES AFTER DARK 2 above) Contains work by: Angelique Cobb, Charlee Jacob, cygne, Kat Kuhn and others. The Zone #2 1995 Run by the inimitable Tony Lee who is still going strong in the Small Press field. Cover: Kevin Cullen (who I believe did the above stunning cover for 'The Pseudo-Nymph) This contains work by Steve Sneyd, Rhys Hughes, Richard Wonnacott, Andrew Darlington, Katherine Roberts and others I look forward to providing two more covers for the Ark after at least one other person has posted on this thread with another pair.

Cthulhu Cultus #9 (1998) Amazingly, I have 7 issues (1997 – 1999) and they all have exactly the same uncredited cover design (except for the issue number and the colour card it’s printed on)!! And what is the design supposed to represent? (NB: The faint blobs around the edge are not on the cover itself). Packed with fiction. Writers in this issue are Burnham (Crispin Burnham?), R.S.Cartwright, Robert Bee, James Ambuehl, Tani Jantsang, Philip Obed Marsh and others. Editor: P Marsh Beyond The Boundaries #11 (1997) Welsh Speculative Writers Foundation I have five issues (1995-1997) Chairman: Peter Grehan Editor: John Sheppard Cover on this issue: D.A.Atkins This issue contains work by Paul Carradine, David Price, Roddy Willams, Miss E.R.Harris, Dr David Evans and others Later Edit: The Cultus design looks like a hand upon other body parts.

Fight! Fight! Fight! I expect you were probably looking at it from a female perspective. Don't be cheeky, Dem. You'll get a smack round the face from me for that! Scarper! Here comes a teacher! Exceptionally, a single entry into the Ark, this time, to prevent further fighting (Dem and Caroline)! SIVULLINEN came from Finland in the mid-Nineties (in English) with many many quite stunning but artfully-drawn horror images inside, stories etc. Mastermind: Jouni Wääräkangasdes PS: Someone entered 3 mags earlier instead of a pair, so this sort of compensates. I hope the correct mags can meet up inside the Ark! And remember no squabbles. PPS: I've now posted the mag the correct way up for normal opening and then reading.

Monthly Weird Stories Magazine #6 (1997) A Fading Shadows, Inc. Publication Editors & Publishers: Tom & Virginia Robinson. Front cover: Albert Roberts Work by: Shawn Danowski, Mark Fewell, Nick Carr and others. I wonder if it was indeed monthly! This is the only issue I have.

Fight! Fight! Fight! Scarper! Here comes a teacher! Please, Miss! Caroline's threatened to get me at playtime! Just one to add for now so it can keep SIVULLINEN company: Steve Holland (ed.) - Fantasy Fanzine Index: Vol 1 (British Fantasy Society, 1987) Craig Forrester Great bibliographical tool. BFS Booklet 11 is a very useful index to such publications as Back Brain Recluse, Dark Dreams, Haunted Library, Dark Horizons, Fantasy Tales & Co. up to 1987. Is it me or does that fellow on the cover look like some kind of unholy composite of Ramsey Campbell's Mackintosh Willie and Noddy Holder?
