That's utterly bizarre, Ben. The food motif is really disconcerting. Although you kind of know what will happen, it's still horrible. Good job, Sir!

Excellent job, Benedict. The fall of Berlin is a fantastic setting for a horror story and I wonder if anyone's actually done it before. What struck me, apart from the food motif, was how time seemed to speed up towards the end, starting out slow and descriptive but almost turning into a diabolical newsreel by the end. The effect worked very well for the story.

cheers! as a setting i love the fall of berlin and the period just before and after. anthony beevors 'berlin' is a great source of info for this period.
